This is the revised version of the Mershurkaan-class Heavy Cruiser.
Mershurkaan means 'gem-cutter' in the Mandalorian language, and that's what this ship is meant to do: cut right into the gems of the Imperial Navy. This 560 metre long vessel is outfitted with 30 point-defense turrets and a set of 22 broadside cannons designed to fire at close range into the side of enemy ships. The two massive primary engines at the rear provide the sublight travel for the ship, and while the six secondary engines can act as backups they normally provide power for the ship's shield grid. This shield grid consists of multiple pairs of molecular shield generators, each running at part efficiency to distribute the load. The main power generators work in a similar way, with two main reactors operating at 75 percent each and six backups running at 50 percent each to lessen the power strain on each reactor. Most of the crew works from the primary bridge, located in the heart of the ship, or from the observation bridge, located on the top of the ship. The remaining crew actually works in the ship's 31 escape pods. These specially designed pods provide a full set of controls for the gunnery crews to use, and will jettison on the ship's captain's command. A built-in failsafe prevents the captain from jettisoning the pods in any situation where the primary engines are still running or the molecular shielding is still active. Due to the ship's large mass, it depends on 'microjumps' to efficiently travel quickly while remaining in-system. These microjumps are small hyperspace jumps that allow the ship to travel much more quickly through an area while still accurately finding its target. Most of the internal space of the Mershurkaan-class is filled with the computers it takes to effectively and efficiently calculate these jumps. The antennas for the sensor suite are on the front of the ship to open up more space for the computers.
