David, slightly intrigued but still concerned, took a step back. “Who’s… ‘We’?”
The girl took another step closer. “You would have to see it to believe it, actually.”
The girl looked at David with a questioning expression. When she realized that he was serious, she took a deep breath and pulled out a small disc-like device. Pressing a button on the side, a holographic image of a ring-shaped space station was projected. It was a large-based station, with three rings connected to it by tunnel-like tubes. She looked at the image and looked back at David.
“This is the UFH; Universal Facility for Heroes. We’ve had our eye on you for a while, and after much consideration, we have decided to bring you aboard.”
David curiously looked at the space station for a moment, then looked up at the girl. “Not buying it.”
The girl sighed. “Fine then.” She put away the device and gave David a very serious look. She rested her hand on one of the swords strapped to her back and took a defensive stance. “Sorry, David. But if force is the way you want to go, then that’s fine with me.” Then she drew her sword and jumped at him. David barely dodged. Then she drew her other sword.
“After all…” she continued “I haven’t fought anyone for a while. I’d like to do some more of it before this girl get’s rusty.”
Never before had someone dared to challenge David before AND know his true identity. Realizing now that this girl really did intend to fight, David took a defensive stance with his arms extended (since his arms are what bore the Aura Bands).
Giving a moment of silence to wreck David’s nerves, the girl charged at him with both her swords drawn. David, having not been used to that kind of speed, took the blow and fell to the ground. Quickly she jumped in the air and pointed her swords downward as she descended. Just before David could even think to defend, she had landed, stabbing her swords into the sleeves of his shirt, holding him down. The girl smiled. “Give in yet?”
Having that bad temper, David replied with using his aura bands to create whip-like arms, grabbing her and throwing her away from him. Though the throw was long and high, she still somehow managed to land on her feet. David used the aura arms and ripped the swords out from his shirt. After cracking the two swords in half, he looked up and noticed the girl running after him again. In a split second, David blasted a shield-shape from his aura bands. One moment the blast is about to hit her, then the blast is in front of her, then the blast passed right past where she stood, and she was gone. David looked around, taking a few steps back. By the time he noticed her land right behind him, she had already flung him around and struck him with a few blows of her fists and feet. Nothing so much as it would hurt too bad, which surprised David a bit, but enough to wear him out. Finally, she kicked him in the chest and he fell to the ground again. David tried to get up, but his arms and legs were sore and weak. The girl pulled out a small gun-shaped device.
“Oh…” she grinned. “That felt so good.”
And with that, she sprayed mist in David’s face, making him quickly pass out.
