It is great that you used all three systems!

Thanks, ML! :D I liked that, too.

Very neat with all 3 bricks! Great Project! 4*

Awesomeness!!!&!!!!!!&!!!

Wow! RXC, NXT, and EV3 in one project! Awesome!!

Great!*****

Thats Terrific mate, i like RCX bot's detail which looks like owl little bit :) I'm currently addicted in hockey too. :P

Thanks, douglas! :D

Thanks, funnyduck!

@ DaveAndJoe. Yep, and I'd have to say that is my favorite part of this project. Thanks!

Thanks, TSH!

Thanks, Kwon! Great to see you back! Yeah, I guess it does. :P Well, I've never actually played hockey before, I just thought it'd be cool to make some hockey robots, so... :P

How do you get the EV3 to connect with the NXT? You can't program bluetooth on the NXT with the EV3 software. And the signals probably aren't the same. Or are they? 5*****+favourite.

Can the NXT and EV3 be connected by bluetooth?

@MindedLegos. Yes, they can. The EV3 and the NXT actually detect each other as bricks. Brick icons pop up when you view them in the Bluetooth menus. But I haven't tested them sending messages between each other yet.

Awesome!

Congrats on your win in the winter sports challenge! It was really nice of you to congratulate all the winners. By the way, have you ever used these robots to compete as a team against other robots? Or do they just play themselves???

@ Robots. I'm not using the EV3 software on the NXT. As far as I know, they are perfectly able to connect... My computer, on the other hand, is the weak link, and won't connect to either. :P

@ MindedLegos. For anyone else, they should be. :P

Thanks, L3G0Ev3! :D

Thanks, DaveAndJoe! They all were outstanding robots, and really deserved it. :) Unfortunately, no, there is nobody in my area to compete against- they mostly compete against themselves.

why did you youse a football player? anyways Awesome!+fav!

@ BenC98. Because that's the closest I have to a hockey minifigure. :P Thanks!

You are probably happy to get three more favs on this project. The thing is they all came from me. You can give more then one fav to a project just click the favorite button really fast

Congrats with winning the challenge! It's a very awesome and creative project.

@ DaveAndJoe. Actually, I rarely look at those, but I did notice. :P Huh. I just tried it on Puma Mission II. It now has 8 favorites... :P

Thanks, Lama! :D

I think we need to stay quite about the multiple favorite thing. I mean if some dishonest cheating user finds out the entire community could go nuts. Thats one of the things about mindscore; it is WAY to easy to cheat.

@ DAJ. Don't worry, my keys are sealed. :P The Log already has enough cheating...

I think that this a very well-thought project. Nicely done, SprinkleOtter! Rating: *****

Thanks, damon! :D

Great use of the three major mindstorms sets. Shame that we can't connect EV3 and NXT via bluetooth without a computer (LEGO...! You're giving me a headache -- modifying the EV3 firmware is painful! *gives up*). I did see some sensors on hitechnic.com (the IRLink) which can let the NXT control the RCX -- you could share information with the EV3, then react appropriately; it's the most powerful.

could they play soccer ?

@ TROM. Yeah, I'm not sure why LEGO didn't fix that. The IR Link does provide communications between the NXT and RCX. In my experience, NXT is almost always stronger than EV3. :P

@ Pharrmac. Probably not. :P The NXT and EV3 robots are designed to hit low objects, not soccer balls. The RCX robot, on the other hand, doesn't know the difference, nor would it matter. :P

I have been wanting to build a team of coordinating robots for some time, and with the posting of the Winter Sports challenge, I decided to build something never before done- a coordinating Mindstorms Hockey Team. The team consists of three robots: the Ev3 Shooter, the NXT Defense, and RCX Goalie. THe Program in this project is a simple one, for the EV3 Shooter to move forward, receive the puck, and shoot it into the goal. I plan on uploading a more complete program later. I will now go into detail on the individual robots.
