Really good for the first own lego model

Great job for your first!

Awesome EV3! Rating: *****

This has got to be one of the best first projects I have seen! Is it built only from parts from the EV3 set? If it is you should enter it in the out of the box building challenge! Five stars!

Thank you, I'm glad that you liked it. Yes, it has only parts from the EV3 box. I didn't know there was such a challenge is going on, thanks for mentioning that. Too bad the editing page takes me to an error page, so I cannot tag it. Maybe that'll be fixed.

Nice

Cool! You should use the infrared sensor to act as a copilot to help avoid objects in its way while in RC mode. [For someone who is a bad driver for instance.]

To jds7777: Yes, that's good idea. Unfortunately, so far all my attempts to track down remote control and IR proximity simultaneously have ended up in strange results. The program seems to get stuck somewhere or exclude functions. I've debugged those programs with other sensors and the loop mess works fine. I think it just can't handle both with only on IR sensor, another one would be cool.

Post LDD!

amazing, but the giant ev3 on the top ruins the look. I don't mean that this project isn't great. 3 stars

wow man good mindstorm

Cool! Follows infared beacon I see.

That is the coolest EV3 lego car I have ever seen. If this is your first try on EV3 or in all lego robotics, very good job!

Good going! That is sweet!

Cool!

Oh! This is nice to be featured when there are so many cool and complex robots posted lately :) Thank you all! Some remarks on your comments. LDD? Now I know there's a Lego Digital Designer program available. The form3la is unassembled by now though. And yes, I't looks better without The Brick. The computer is quite large for any smooth figure, but I guess some good pre-design would do the job.

I didn't program a beacon follow for this. It's not hard to do, but I felt that a relatively large turning radius (unlike a tank) would make it a bit clumsy. Maybe I should have give it a try though. I need more of these packs so I don't have to tear them to pieces all the time :D

Very cool design! Do you have the programming files for download?

I uploaded the program and it might appear there if it get's published. Simple Remote and automation modes there. The only special twist in those program is getting the front tires straight when needed.

Awesome :) Very Well Made steering, very well matched gear ratio, Perfect car! Go and Check out some of my cars :)

Could someone tell me about this out of the box challenge and is it from the moderators?

Need for speed with EV3... I like it!! 5*

Wow! Very nicely done!

it is the featured robot, but what does that mean and how can you be that?

Can u pu more photo plz.

Very, very cool!

Wow this is a very good racecar. :):):):):):)

This is still the best of your projects…

Formula One car made out of EV3 parts. This was the first time for me to build something of my own out of technics bricks, so it was much of going back and forth, figuring out the steering system etc. It has two large motors for the back wheels (geared up for faster speed!) and a medium motor for steering. It has an IR control and an automatic mode. In auto mode, if it sees something ahead, it tries to avoid that with random manouvers. If the avoid fails, it breaks and reverses to random direction.
