Probably, but if I had a longer ramp, the skier would eventually reach a terminal velocity.

Yep, I checked it out, the biplane (or monoplane), right? And terminal velocity is where something reaches a constant speed because there is 0 acceleration because the forces of friction and propulsion are the equal. Orlando_2k was simply trying to say that the skier accelerates between the two light sensors.

I don't think the skiers can reach terminal velocity until they are are not touching the ramp. Then they would be in complete free-fall, AKA terminal velocity.

Impressive! I must admit, I never saw this robot before now. I like how it calculates the speed, and especially like the minifigure stuck in the snow. :P Congrats on winning Bronze! :D

The SKI-JUMP! is for making skiing more exciting in the Lego world. Before the SKI-JUMP! (in the first video clip) Lego skiing looked like a minifigure sliding down a slope and coming to a stop at the end. But now with the SKI-JUMP!, an RCX calculates their speed in SPS (Studs Per Second), and at the end, they are flung into the air, producing a variety of stunts (and I'm proud to say that in the very last clip, the minifigure does a full flip).
