WOW! That's realy cool. I have thougt a long time how to do that!

Nice construction of the wheel assemblies. I noticed the chain only drives three of the four wheels: is there some specific reason for that (or just not enough chain)? Do you have any problems with the chain breaking under high stress (torque)?

Actually, the chain driving only 3 wheels was a function of having all teh right pieces. I had plenty of chain. I haven't had the chain break...but I haven't run it under high stress either.

were do you get the chian?

That's cool! Lots smaller than the one I made. I'm working on my next synchro drive right now. Do the wheels stay aligned for you? I found that with lego gears that always have an even number of teeth (8, 24, 40) one of my wheel assemblies is always a little off.

The wheels seem to be aligned properly and they stay in sync. It's all about having the right pieces holding the model together so gears can't slip.

how do the wheels move??? i can't really tell form the description.

Mr. B., it looks like a cart.

why does one turntable have 1 wheel??? did you run out???

do you have to have the turntables? couldnt you use ordinary gears?

very simple but very cool! 5*****

You know what synchro drive is? Synchro drive means all 4 wheels turn together. So, a robot with this drive system can drive stright forward, stop and then drive straight sideways. Each wheel is attached to a turn table and the turn tables are attached with gears so they turn together. Each wheel is driven by a shaft that goes down through the center of its turntable.
