EV3 Biped Prototype Profile

will you follow me?

Great prototype! I can't wait to see what you add to it in the future!

Looks interesting! Hope you stay building on it to see the final one in the future!

Really nice; a video would be nice too! Rating: *****

Thanks, mindstorm815! Sure. :)

Thanks, Arem! :D

Thanks, Audiultra! I will! (or, at the very least, incorporate the mechanism into another robot)

Thanks, Samonicle6!

Thanks, Damon! Unfortunately, as it is just a prototype, I did not make a video.

Want some advice? Well build it with 4 motors

@ pharrmac. Well, that'd be a little tricky, as I only have 3. :P

I like the size of it! A guess you probably do not want your biped to compact because it adds weight which in turn makes the biped slower. UB, who weighed 6 pounds, took one MINUTE to take a single step. I does not look like the case here. Nice job!

Thanks, DaveAndJoe! Yeah, I'm going for the optimum size for the robot, as too small and too large would add weight. UB probably also gained more than half an inch a step. :P Thanks!

o i have 4 : ]

i think you have an nxt and rcx to

@ pharrmac. Yeah, but to add either of those would add another batterie box, which would add a ton of weight. :P

Wow! great idea!.Is that 45544 with 31313 + a NXT?or 31313+NXT+45560?I see white beams.****

@ TheSuperHedgehog1753. It's a combination of pieces. :P I does use several beams from the NXT.

Actually, you have 6 motors that are compatible with EV3. Use one from your NXT!

The Ev3 Biped Prototype (EBP) is a more unique robots on the Mindstorms log, in that it can walk (not shuffle), and turn. It does this by drastically shifting its weight, and balancing on one leg while the other takes a step. Each leg is moved by a single large motor, and the EV3 Intelligence Brick is moved from side to side by the Medium motor. The EBP can detect objects with the Infrared sensor (not hooked up in the pictures). I hope to build upon this concept in the future, as this is just a prototype to prove the idea. Unfortunately, the program will not upload. It is a simple one, where one Large motor makes one rotation, the Medium motor makes 2.5, and repeat. Though short, I hope you enjoyed this project. Until next time!
